WAYS TO GIVE

Choose How You Will Help Future Students Succeed

Show your support for The Campaign for 3301 by making a pledged commitment to be fulfilled over the next three to five years. Your gifts to the campaign will be managed by Friends of Father Judge High School, Inc., a separately incorporated 501c3 charity enabling our school to keep donor support independent from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Pledges are statements of charitable intent, not legally binding commitments. The Friends of Father Judge High School EIN is 75-3053213.

Six Simple Ways to Give

1

Gifts of cash

Get an income tax deduction for the year you donate. Personal checks, cash, and credit debit transactions (American Express, MasterCard, or Visa) are the most popular ways to support Father Judge. Please indicate how you would like your gift to be made on your pledge form, including anticipated timing of pledge payments and other necessary information. Please make checks payable to Friends of Father Judge High School. For direct deposits, our bank is Firstrust Bank, routing number (ABA) 236073801, account number 8000369945.

2

Gifts of appreciated publicly traded securities

Access tax benefits with a gift of stocks or bonds. The deduction for outright gifts of appreciated long-term securities (held more than 12 months) is equal to the fair market value of the securities on the date the donor relinquishes control of the assets to the school. None of the appreciation is taxable for capital gains purposes. Our school maintains an account for the transfer of securities with Charles Schwab. Our account name is the Friends of Father Judge HS, account Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. 8604-6721, DTC 0164, Code 40. To ensure you are credited for the full tax deduction, please use our stock transfer form to notify the development office of the transaction.

3

Gifts of closely held stock

Similar to publicly traded securities, you may be able to avoid capital gains on appreciation of the stock, while attaining a tax deduction based on the stock’s fair market value, with a gift of stock of a private corporation. Donors may get an immediate tax deduction up to 30% of the adjusted gross income. If the gift exceeds 30%, the remainder of the deduction generally can be carried over for up to five years.

4

Matching gifts

Many businesses allow you to multiply your impact by matching your donation. For example, if you give $5,000 to Father Judge, your company may also give $5,000, and you may be credited with a $10,000 gift. Some companies will even match gifts on a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio. Simply contact your human resources offices for the appropriate forms, and forward them along with the gifts to Kevin Huckel in the development office at kevin.huckel@fatherjudge.com for completion.

5

Gifts of real estate/tangible property

You may donate property outright, getting an immediate tax deduction and avoiding capital gains taxes. As per the school’s gift acceptance policies, our finance committee must approve all gifts of real estate and tangible property.

6

Planned gifts

Significantly increase the level of your gift through other forms of giving, such as deferred gifts. You may be able to give while meeting personal financial objectives with a transfer of assets to a gift or trust entity that pays income to a named beneficiary, or shift assets to children or grandchildren. These gift arrangements may also allow you to gain immediate tax advantages or reduce gift or estate taxes. Bequests are also a popular way to make a significant gift and perpetuate your charitable support of the school well beyond your lifetime.

Consult your tax advisors concerning the treatment of these and other specialized gift techniques, as they may vary depending upon individual circumstances.

Father Judge High School and the Friends of Father Judge High School, Inc. follow the Donor Bill of Rights to provide full trust and confidence in your investment.
